Keep things smooth!
Let Georgina delicately remove facial and body hair using waxing and electrolysis.
Hair epilation is the removal of the entire hair and will eventually grow back. For something more permanent, electrolysis is the only permanent solution but is an ongoing process and not instantaneous.
Beauty Tip…
Let hair grow out! Hairs ideally need to be ¼ inch long for wax to adhere to. Wax can not pick up hair when they are too short

Electrolysis
What is electrolysis?
Electrolysis is a course of treatments that can legally claim to be the number one hair removal method to permanently remove superfluous hair. It has remained the only treatment to achieve complete eradication of unwanted hair and is suitable for any part of the body, regardless of skin tone or hair colour.
How does electrolysis work?
Electrolysis involves the insertion of a minute probe into the hair follicle where a small burst of warm energy is then skillfully discharged at the base. This causes the destruction of the hair follicle either by heat, a chemical reaction, or a blend of both methods. With advanced technology methods today, it has become a more comfortable treatment.
During a course of treatments there will be a gradual decrease in the growth of hair and you will quickly notice a difference. Each hair requires repeated treatments because each hair has its own blood supply and growth cycle. On top of this, hair thickness, skin sensitivity, dryness and other factors can affect how quickly each hair can be destroyed. For this reason, this treatment takes time.
Over several sessions, the hair will eventually become weaker and finer through lack of nutrients and will eventually stop growing completely. Results take a little time but are worth it.
What to expect – First session
At your first session, a detailed consultation is carried out to discuss the best course of action to treat your hair problem and to understand the process, time and cost involved. An initial guide would be around once a week at the start of the treatment and then every other week until the hair is permanently destroyed. This can take up to 12-18 months depending on the area involved.
The cost of the first session is £20 as it will give you a chance to experience a ‘taster session’, ask any questions and ensure this treatment is right for you so that you are left feeling comfortable with the decision you made.
FAQs
Unsure whether to have electrolysis or laser, what’s the difference?
Laser, termed ‘hair reduction’ uses a laser to reduce the hair growth but does not remove all the hair permanently and is generally used to treat large areas of the body. Certain hair types are not suitable for laser eg, fair, blonde, red or grey hair and those who are on certain medications or are tanned. Permanent hair removal with electrolysis requires a session of treatments but results in complete, permanent hair removal.
How often will I need to be treated?
As everyone is individual, the number of sessions required will vary due to density of hair growth. Regular appointments over a period are required, at least a minimum of a year for most areas. Appointment times vary from 10 minutes to several hours depending on the are being treated.
What does my skin look like after electrlosis?
There is a little redness & localised swelling that will disappear over time depending on the skin sensitivity and skin type. No recovery time is necessary and you can continue your day as normal. The following day will generally show little sign of any treatment.
What can I do in between treatments?
In-between your appointments it is best to cut or shave the hair even on the face. If you use a method such as waxing, tweezing, threading or epilating that removes the hair by the root, you will increase the blood supply to the hair follicle and your hair growth will increase. Each time a hair is removed in this way, it will grow back stronger and darker.
Aftercare
Following the treatment, clients will be given an aftercare leaflet and advised to use a post-epilation anti-septic cream which is important to protect and heal the skin.
Top Tips
DO drink plenty of water the day before your treatment as dehydrated follicles can be difficult to treat.
DO use a range of specially formulated products as part of your aftercare to help heal the area.
DO apply the aftercare products with a clean cotton wool, not your fingers.
DO NOT take hot showers or baths.
DO NOT swim
DO NOT apply makeup to the treated area.
DO NOT apply soaps or perfumed products to the area.
DO NOT wear tight clothing over the treated body part.
DO NOT touch or cleanse the area.
DO NOT pick any scabs that form in the following 48 hours.
DO NOT expose yourself to sun for at least 24 hours before and after each session on the treated area. This may cause hyperpigmentation. Ideally, tanning should be avoided completely during treatment.
Pregnant? Although, there is no evidence that this treatment is harmful for pregnant ladies, you may be advised to wait until after you have given birth.
Remember to tell your electrologist about any unusual reactions immediately in order that your treatment may be modified accordingly.
